Ethereum’s (ETH) Vitalik Buterin slams Tron’s (TRX) Justin Sun for Plagiarism
With markets sluggish and regulators looming, altcoins are starting to turn on each other. And things are getting personal.
Tron’s Justin Sun, who today celebrated his graduation from Jack Ma’s Hupan university, tweeted today a list of reasons why Tron is better than Ethereum, including zero fees and “strong extensibility”.
To that list Ethereum’s founder, Vitalik Buterin, added one more: “Better white paper writing capability (Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V much higher efficiency than keyboard typing new content)”.

Buterin is alluding to the allegations which surfaced towards the end of last year that Tron’s white-paper leant heavily on the work of previous white-papers written for FileCoin and IPFS. Sun has not yet responded to Buterin’s dig, though in January he appeared to blame translators for the startling similarities in the white-papers.
The spat is another example of a generation gap opening up between the more established players like Ethereum and newer platforms like Tron. Litecoin’s Charlie Lee, who is certainly in the established camp, recently described Tron as, “extremely hyped [but] without a lot of substance”… although he claimed he was only talking about the movie.
People keep asking me about it… fine, I will give my opinion. I loved the original TRON movie but was meh about the latest one. I feel like it is extremely hyped without a lot of substance. 😜 pic.twitter.com/KIWAR18eTn
