Wednesday has seen yet another major development take place in the budding ecosystem surrounding security tokens and tokenized assets, with Own (CHX) partnering with U.S.-based, S.E.C.-registered broker-dealer Hamersley Partners in a deal that will undoubtedly pique the interest of institutional investors across the globe.

Announced via a press release earlier today, Own Group and Hamersley Partners told the public about the formation of “an important new deal and strategic partnership.” Specifically, the deal will see Hamersley Partners subsidiary Hamersley Digital Markets (HDM) integrate its “deep network of institutional investors” with Own’s full-stack asset tokenization technology so as to launch a “platform for the complete end-to-end lifecycle management of digital securities.”

Long Way From Home

Being headquartered in the German city of Munich, partnering with a broker-dealer from the United States is quite the milestone for the Own team. Building the so-called Digital Assets Platform – which will include primary issuance offerings and liquid secondary trading – should see Own manage to tap into an entirely new customer base, particularly with Hamersley by their side.

We are excited to sign this deal with Hamersley and work together on providing a seamless asset tokenization process for forward-thinking clients in North America and the rest of the world.” – Sascha Ragtschaa (CEO & Co-Founder, Own)

CHX Jumps Over 20% on Partnership News

Crypto investors responded enthusiastically to the news of the Own-Hamersley strategic partnership, with the dollar value of Own’s native token – CHX – increasing by over 20 percent in the hours after the announcement’s publication.

In what was a rather flat day for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) – and thus, the broader cryptocurrency market – Own’s CHX token managed to soar up the rankings (as measured by total market cap). At the time of writing, CHX is ranked #120, up considerably from #268 little over a month ago – according to CoinMarketCap.

We welcome the opportunity to partner with a team with roots dating back over 25 years in the traditional investment management world.” – Peter Pavlina (Managing Principal, Hamersley Partners)
