With the mainnet launch just around the corner, the Tron Foundation has released a blog post on their medium account outlining the remaining steps leading up to the event. The major concern now is migrating Ethereum-based ERC20 tokens off the current network and onto a supporting exchange.
The guide lists important dates that investors should be aware of, including:
- June 21: Users should being moving their existing TRX tokens onto supporting exchanges.
- June 24: TRX token migration will begin at midnight Beijing time (GMT +8). Deposits and withdrawals will be suspended.
- June 26: Deposits and withdrawals will resume.
So far there are 30 major cryptocurrency exchanges supporting the TRX ERC20 token migration and each has their own specific timeline for provisioning swaps, so Tron warns users to check with their chosen exchange. Trading of TRX will not be affected while tokens are on exchanges.
Once complete, all old ERC20 tokens will have been converted to the new MainNet native coin, the TRON20 standard.
Leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance have offered to continue supporting ERC20 coin swaps for users who are unable to migrate tokens before June 24th.
